Everyone knows the printer? Wow, if you don’t know, it’s funny. Printers are one of the computer supporting hardware used by many people. The function of the printer on a computer is as a tool for printing certain documents, images, or writing to print media in the form of paper. With a printer, you can print documents, pictures, graphics, or if your printer has a 3D printer, you can print objects in three dimensions.

For that the printer must be in good condition so that it can be used for a long time. This condition is marked by the printout on paper that is always good every time you do the printing process. But sometimes, the printer you use can experience problems that produce print on imperfect paper. You may have encountered problems when using your printer, such as ink leaks on paper, broken prints, or ink problems that did not come out. To overcome the last problem (ink that does not come out), you can do one of the ways to overcome printer ink that is not coming out, namely Cleaning, or other title, Head Cleaning.

Head Cleaning is one of the printer maintenance techniques, where the printer will do the process of cleaning and removing ink that has clumped on the bottom of the ink cartridge. Cleaning is intended so that when the printer is used again, ink can come out of the cartridge smoothly and the results on the paper back is good. This technique is one way to overcome the results of striped prints carried out by a computer or printer repairman.

The steps for cleaning or head cleaning techniques are as follows :

  • In avoiding ink that overflows from the nozzle. This can happen if the lumpy ink suddenly gets carried to the nozzle and results in overflow of ink on the paper.
  • To launch the nozzle hole when the ink comes out of the cartridge to the printer head. When there is ink that clots on the nozzle, the flow of ink from the cartridge will be clogged. Of course, it can interfere with the print or print process.
  • Minimize greater expenditure due to damage to the nozzle or printer head which prices are quite expensive.

In Windows 10 users, in this article we will discuss how to clean the Windows 10 printer. You can do the steps that we explained in this article for the HP printer brand. All you have to do is adjust the setup steps on your printer. Following are the steps :

  • First click Start on the taskbar, then select Settings. Click on Devices, Bluetooth, Printers, Mouse.
  • Next, you will enter the Printers and Scanners window Scroll down, and you will find the words Devices and Printers. Click Devices and Printers Then, you will see a window containing a list of devices that have been connected or are currently connected to your computer.

  • Then, look for a printer that will be cleaned. For your convenience, look for a printer name that says your printer's brand name is accompanied by its type. For example, for an HP printer, you will find the words "Printer HP"

  • After the printer is found, right-click on the name of the printer, then select Printer Preferences or "Printer Properties (the name depends on the brand of printer you are using).

  • It aims to open a settings window from your printer. Select the Maintenance or Maintenance tab. On this tab, you will find several things related to the care of your printer.

  • Then click the Head Cleaning button. In some printers, you will find two cleaning options, namely regular cleaning and more detailed cleaning. This more detailed cleaning is commonly known as Deep Cleaning for Canon or Power Cleaning printers for HP printers.

  • If you are cleaning for the first time, just choose regular cleaning. Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process. Wait for the cleaning process to finish. During the process, you are not allowed to use a printer other than for maintenance purposes.

  • After the process is complete, do a paper printing test on your printer after the cleaning process through the Nozzle Check technique. How, on the Maintenance or Maintenance tab, click Nozzle Check. Follow the next instructions that appear on the screen. Try to compare the results of the images printed on the paper with the image displayed on the screen. If the results are appropriate and the results are good, then the cleaning process is done successfully. But if the cleaning results are done less well, you can repeat the Cleaning process again by clicking Cleaning.
  • However, you have done twice cleaning but the results are still lacking, you can only do a deeper cleaning method. Actually, this method is almost the same as ordinary cleaning methods. The difference is only when you are asked to choose whether you want to do regular cleaning or deeper cleaning, you choose the second one. Then click the Start button and follow the instructions on your computer screen.

Then, you have to turn off your printer for one day after doing this type of cleaning, if the paper prints are still not showing changes. It may be that the print on the paper returns to good after one day because some ink sometimes takes time to function normally after cleaning.

Better, you do this cleaining regularly. The time period can be once a week or at a minimum when it is needed. That is, you are just cleaning when the printouts on your printer are not good even though the ink conditions are still in optimal condition. This is because this cleaning process will also emit ink. So, make sure the ink available in the cartridge is still plenty before cleaning. If you do cleaning, give a distance of about 15 to 20 minutes before the printer is used again. This is to avoid heat in the cartridge that can cause damage to the part.

Only this can we write in this article about how to clean the Windows 10 printer. Hopefully our article this time can help you to do the cleaning as a step to care for your printer and do ways to deal with printer errors. Make sure you also choose the right printer.
